If you are looking for a fun, free fall activity for your family, take a stroll through the Trail of Scarecrows. This annual event is held at Prophetstown State Park each year and features a variety of scarecrows from organizations and individuals all around the area. This is the 9th year for this straw-filled event.
You can see the scarecrow display every day whenever the park is open, through November 4th. The scarecrows will be placed along the paved, accessible trail so everyone can easily enjoy the display. You can walk, run, or even ride your bike along the path. Try to find the scarecrows created by your favorite groups.
In addition to the Trail of Scarecrows, be sure to head back to Prophetstown State Park for the Fall Funfest. It will be held October 20th and 21st. There will be Halloween activities at the park, including trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving, and campsite decorating at the campground. You can also take a hayride through the prairie and visit the past at the Native American village for the harvest celebration.
Prophetstown State Park is located at 5545 Swisher Road in West Lafayette. If you have any questions about the Trail of Scarecrows or the Fall Funfest, you can call 765-567-4919.
