Three Tricks for Cleaning Frost Off of Your Windshield Quickly

Cleaning Frost Off Your Windshield | Mike Raisor Pre-Owned

In the winter months, frost can be one of your biggest enemies. But we’re here to help! Here are some tricks on how to get frost off of your windshield quickly so that you can hit the road and take on the next adventure (or the work day).

Vinegar Solution

When you combine three parts white vinegar (like that Heinz bottle you typically find) and one part water, the mixture will help eliminate ice and fog. The best way to use this mixture is to spray it on your windshield the night before a snowstorm or icestorm to cut down on the formation of ice.

Alcohol Solution

Much like the vinegar solution, a homemade alcohol solution can do wonders on a frozen and fogged-up windshield. Combine two parts rubbing alcohol with one part water into a spray bottle. Then, spray it on the windshield. It will help get rid of the frost and the fog that comes with it.

Car Settings

If you’d prefer to just use your car to get the job done, there’s a faster way to melt frost. First, turn your car’s heat on high and full fan power. Then, though it sounds counter-intuitive, turn the A/C on. After this, turn off the car’s air circulation. Then, crack the windows open. This combination can help melt the frost quickly.
